Development of solutions for the detoxification of marine ecosystems.
We study the marine biotoxins that cause PSP and DSP and focus our research on developing solutions capable of detoxifying live bivalves. Such solutions involve the optimization of compounds and/or materials whose properties meet the physicochemical characteristics of the toxin molecules.
We also investigated the biotransformations that occur in live bivalves or in solution, as well as the relationship between molecular structure and their toxic potential.
