The Gorringe is one of the largest submarine mountains in Europe, stretching approximately 120 km in length and rising nearly 5,000 meters, with two peaks reaching close to 30 meters below the surface. CCMAR has been studying this seamount since 1998, participating in ten scientific expeditions, the most recent in 2024. This seminar provides a brief overview of the 2024 ROV expedition, unveiling the marine habitats found there, from kelp forests and maerl beds to black coral gardens.
