Topic:
In this talk, I will discuss research from a kelp forest monitoring effort on the west coast of Ireland where we measure species diversity, primary productivity, and recovery of kelp to major disturbances. Our current research efforts aim to describe the genetic diversity of Laminaria hyperborea in Ireland and ecological mechanisms of resilience.
About our speaker:
Dr. Kathryn Schoenrock is the primary investigator and postdoctoral researcher on 'KelpRes: diversity and resilience of kelp ecosystems in Ireland".
