The foraging performance of visual predators is dependent on the spectral sensitivity and spatial organization of their retinal photoreceptors. Indirectly developing teleosts, such as flatfishes, will reorganize their retinas to optimize foraging performance during development. I will use Atlantic halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) to demonstrate how these changes match their foraging ecology. Current experiments through the CCMAR with Senegalese sole (Solea senegalensis) will also be highlighted.

The seminar will be held on July 20, at 13:30, in Amphitheatre A, Complexo Pedagógico, Gambelas Campus.
Participation is free but mandatory to register.
