Abstract:
Fish mesenchymal stem cells from adult tissues have the ability to differentiate into a variety of cell types and have proven to be good models to study development in many tissues. We have established a gilthead sea bream muscle satellite cells primary culture and studied the myogenic regulatory factors expression during culture development. Also, we have investigated the role of growth hormone and the insulin-like growth factors on proliferation and differentiation. Now, we are interested in using this in vitro system to assess the impact on muscle growth of thyroid hormones disruption in vivo.
