The Algarve Centre of Marine Sciences, through the President Adelino Canário, will attend the meeting "Global Marine Biology Network, which will be held on October 30 at the Napoles Zoological Station.

Adelino Canário, President of the CCMAR Board, will attend at the meeting "Global Marine Biology Network", which will take place on 30 October in the Zoological Station of Napoles, the same date of the hundredth anniversary of Anton Dorn's death, the Zoological Station founder.

The meeting which brings together heads of several stations in marine biology from all over the world, will be attended by two Nobel laureates in Physiology or Medicine, Tim Hunt (2001) and Torsten Wiesel (1981), and former President of the National Science Foundation and Counselor of the Presidency of the United States of America, Rita Colwell.

The Zoological Station of Naples (www.szn.it) collaborates in various projects with CCMAR, including the infrastructure financed by the European Seventh Framework Program ASSEMBLE (www.assemblemarine.org), the doctoral program Biodiversity and Biology of Marine Systems, and European Center for Marine Living Resources (www.EMBRC.eu), in preparation.
