The CCMAR Oceanographic Exhibition is based on a new project in Portugal integrating geological and biological components, which has allowed scientists to make the largest inventory of marine species of the Algarve coast, some of them described for the first time on the Portugal’s coast.

Through biological seabed mapping processes and using various sampling techniques, hundreds of images, primarily to confirm organisms identification, were recorded.

Therefore, all the images of this exhibition belong to biological underwater work, which has, from a quick and concise record, successfully captured the intrinsic beauty of underwater world. Algae, sponges, polychaets, shrimps, starfish and fishes are just a small sample of the huge wealth hidden under the sea that this exhibition intends to reveal.
