This was the first operational survey of ROV "CALAPPA" carried out by the University of Algarve - CCMAR on natural reefs offshore the south coast of Portugal in the beginning of the Portimão canyon. Part of this cruise was done to ground truth the acoustic data from IEO and another to characterize the marine biodiversity in cooperation with the "Deep reefs" project .
