Luísa Custódio (h-factor 37, according to Scopus), 50 years old, graduated in Agronomy in 1999 at the University of Algarve (UAlg,Portugal) with a final classification of 15 (1-20), having concluded in 2006 the Doctorate in Biotechnological Sciences, (Plant Biotechnology), in the same institution, with the final classification of “Approved”. He carried out two Post-doctoral works, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT, Portugal), from 2006 to 2013, and served as an Assistant Researcher under the FCT Research Programme, from 2013 to 2018, at the Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR). She is currently a Principal Investigator at CCMAR, under the FCT Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Contest. His field of specialization is Plant Biotechnology, with current research interests in the biotechnological exploration of marine organisms (Blue Biotecnology) and salt-tolerant plants. She has 166 publications indexed in Web of Science. In the last 5 years she made 3 oral communications by invitation in workshops, seminars, and congresses, 8 oral communications in congresses and 19 in the form of a poster. Participated in 7 national scientific research projects with external funding, concluded or ongoing as coordinator (total amount financed €850 588.82), including as coordinator in Portugal of an ongoing international PRIMA project. She supervised/co-supervised 24 students (including experimental works, modules chosen by students of the Integrated Master’s in medicine, Erasmus+, master's and undergraduate work), and was/is part of the supervision team of 8 PhD students (4 as main supervisor). participates/participated as editor of three special editions in international journals (Q1, percentile greater than 90%), and is an evaluator of publications in 22 international journals. She was a member of the evaluation panel of the FCT Call for Research Grants for Doctorates - 2022, Biological Sciences panel. Participated as an evaluator of scientific projects, at the invitation of the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology. About pedagogical capacity, provided 6 teaching services, and is the Guest Professor responsible for the Curricular Unit “Sustainable bioprospecting of natural products”, International Master of Science in Marine Biological Resources (IMBRSEa, 2nd year). She participated in 8 juries of tests academic activities, including experimental work, masters, and doctorates, and was a member of the scientific committee of the 12th National Chromatography Meeting of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ, 5 to 7 December, 2022, Aveiro, Portugal). She was a Specialist in Blue Biotechnology of the Working Group included in the technical committee for the creation of the Blue International Biotechnology Center to be installed in Portugal (Technical Committee created by Dispatch No. 2947/2023, of March 3, by the Minister of Economy and the Sea, through an initiative of the Society Francisco Manuel dos Santos). Participated in several activities including short movies and interviews, by CCMAR, to promote scientific research in Blue Biotechnology. Participated in the 2023 edition of the BlueBiovalue acceleration and one Ideations programmes, promoted by the Oceano Azul and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundations.
