In this project, CCMAR aims to:
- gather, analyse and integrate information about biodiversity, fisheries and other relevant activities in order to support a monitoring and information system, to create monitoring, conservation and management models for marine species and habitats in the MPA of the Arrábida Natural Park. Use these data to propose indicators and monitoring models for the conservation of species and habitats and for the periodical evaluation needs of the MPA;

- restore populations of marine forests of large seaweeds, seagrasses and corals;

- develop a communication strategy that follows the mission and goals of the national protected areas and European Union policies for science and open access to information.

Project InforBiomares is promoted by LPN (Liga para a Protecção da Natureza) for the ICNF (Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas), hiring a consortium composed by CCMAR (Centro de Ciências do Mar) and ISPA (Instituto Universitário de Ciências Psicológicas, Sociais e da Vida).
