Project Activities

Hiring Highly Qualified Human Resources (HQHR) to improve scientific infrastructures offers significant advantages for advancing research and development at CCMAR. These professionals, with their specialization and advanced experience, play a crucial role in promoting scientific and technological excellence.

Within the scope of MarPlus2024, the RHAQ bring with them a high level of technical and scientific competence, raising the quality and relevance of research through CCMAR's participation in European scientific research infrastructure networks. Their experience contributes to the generation of knowledge that will enable us to respond to changes and challenges such as the need for innovation and adaptation to the digital age.

Hiring RHAQ will diversify the research and support teams for science and knowledge management, promoting international collaboration and the exchange of knowledge with other international institutions and researchers and access to sustainable funding. With a view to promoting scientific employment, increasing the proportion of highly qualified personnel in total employment and increasing qualified human resources as a way of densifying interactions, collaboration and the dissemination of knowledge, CCMAR intends, through MarPlus2024, to make its participation in European scientific research infrastructures more attractive to funders, both nationally and internationally.

CCMAR therefore intends to strengthen its position on the global scientific research scene, allowing continuous access to resources, technologies and strategic partnerships. To this end, through the three MarPlus2024 activities - 1) Scientific development of CCMAR's European scientific infrastructure, 2) Technical maintenance of scientific research equipment and infrastructures and 3) Support for Science and Knowledge Management - CCMAR intends to sustain its presence in projects led by experienced teams, improve its training offer to young researchers and postgraduates, boosting innovation and knowledge transfer by creating opportunities for the development of new products, processes and services in partnership with other players in the national innovation ecosystem.

As part of various international research networks, CCMAR is continually seeking to apply new organizational and technological methods and processes in order to strengthen its R&D and innovation capacity, of which this project is an integral part. The contracting of RHAQ is the basis of our innovation strategy and translates into a strengthening of capacity and organization geared towards the enhancement of knowledge and positioning in the value chain based on the competitive vectors Innovation and R&D, thus contributing to the EREI Algarve 2030 priority area of the Economy of the Sea through the various transformative actions in which CCMAR develops its action.

The ability to produce more and better science supported by CCMAR's participation in European scientific infrastructures is the motto for MarPlus2024 to be the facilitator of renewed methods and processes that facilitate the development of innovative solutions and respond to specific challenges related to competitiveness. More RHAQs mean more science and more science means more capacity to obtain funding, so scientific collaborations can generate value, drive innovation and promote the creation of qualified jobs at CCMAR, especially in growth and transformation sectors such as the Green Economy.

These collaborations could mean new stable partnerships which, at greater stages of innovation development, could share risks and responsibilities. These partnerships will be all the more significant for society the greater their heterogeneity between the private and public sectors and of different economic nature (CCMAR, companies, government and social organizations). Thus, MarPlus2024 will have a positive cost/benefit ratio, as it is necessary to consider not only the direct financial investments, i.e. the hiring of RHAQs, but also the potential impacts in terms of operational efficiency, differentiation of scientific production/scientific services, sustainability in attracting future funding and organizational resilience in the search for and development of fruitful partnerships and collaborations in terms of Innovation.
