As a result of the Workshop on the Biogeography and Phylogeography of Atlantic Fishes (funded by FACC/FCT and the International Biogeography Society), and co-organized by Vítor Almada and André Levy (ISPA-IU) and Rita Castilho (Center for Marine Sciences/CCMAR) an appeal was launched to make use of virtual social networks to increase coordination and collaboration between colleagues, and a ‘Marine Phylogeography' Facebook page was created.
