Five researchers from the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) participated in the publication of the book "Introduction to Marine Genomics".Leonor Cancela, researcher and team leader of EDGE group, has also coordinated the chapter 7 of this book about "Genomic approaches in aquaculture and fisheries".
This book, recently published by Springer, is the first volume of a series untitled "Advances in Marine Genomics" and represents the first attempt to document how genomic technologies are revolutionizing the diverse domains of marine biology. Each chapter of this book looks at how these technologies are being employed in a specific domain of marine research and provides a summary of the major results obtained to date. The book as a whole provides an overview of marine genomics as a discipline and represents an ideal starting point for exploring this rapidly developing domain.
This book is an output of the NoE Marine Genomics Europe (MGE) funded by the European Community through the FP7 programme.
