The most endangered marine ecosystem in Portugal has now a conservation program! The Algarve Center for Marine Sciences, in partnership with the Oceanário de Lisboa, are the coordinators of a program for the adoption of Marine Seagrass Meadows in Portugal.

The "Adopt a Seagrass Meadow" project is an initiative of the Algarve Center of Marine Sciences (CCMAR), sponsored by the Oceanário de Lisboa, which aims to create opportunities for society involvement in monitoring and protecting one of the most vulnerable marine ecosystems of the Portuguese coast, the seagrasses.
