Exhibition and Activities: O que Darwin Não Achou
Dates: 21 and 22 Nov, 11:00h-18:00h and 24 to 27 Nov, 10:00h-17:00h
Description: DNA not only confirms the reality of evolution, described by Darwin in his book "The Origin of Species", but also shows at the most basic level, how living organisms are restructured.
In an interactive way, we want to explain the basic concepts of location, structure and functioning of the DNA molecule.

Lecture: O que Darwin não descobriu, poderia ter descoberto, e aqueles que o redescobriram
Data: 24-11-2009, 10:30h
Audience: Youth
Description: This session will discuss some of the most important additions made on the theory of evolution initiated by Darwin. The heredity of Mendel, the father of modern genetics and contemporary of Darwin, was one of the most important additions. Only in the middle of last century, with modern synthesis and discovery of the structure and functioning of DNA, the theory of evolution has finally discovered the theoretical and cellular processes that explain what Darwin started. The recent technological revolution continues to extend these principles by integrating the evolution developments in various aspects of life sciences research.
Maximum participants: 50
Comments: Lecture held by Dr. Filipe Alberto, Assistant Researcher of the Center for Marine Sciences of Algarve. The lecture will be held in portuguese.
