The aim of this talk is to present the challenge related to the development of nanocomposites to improve local intestinal delivery after oral administration. These systems based on tailored mucopenetrating nanoemulsions doped into mucoadhesive matrices have unique technological and biological properties that can be used to improve locally drug therapeutic efficacy as in the case of inflammatory bowel diseases.
