The Algarve Strandings Network (RAAlg) is funded by the Environmental Fund of the Ministry of the Environment and coordinated by a team of marine biologists from CCMAR and the University of the Algarve. Our goal is to respond to alerts of stranded dead cetaceans (dolphins and whales) and sea turtles along the entire Algarve coast - from Odeceixe to Vila Real de Santo António - to carry out systematic sampling and collection of information to determine species occurrence patterns and causes of death.
