The people behind our science are the ones that make our science great! That is the main reason why, as member of the CIMAR-LA, CCMAR strongly supports policies meant to advance scientific careers.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive research environment, which is essential to attracting and retaining top talent and ensuring that we remain at the forefront of marine science research.

Recently, we have been working towards improving the working conditions and professional careers of our researchers. For this, we endorsed the "European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers" (Charter and Code), a commitment to excellence in human resources practices that has just been recognized by the European Commission.

To achieve these objectives, we have set up a specific working group, which is analysing the shortcomings of current human resources policies and identifying areas for improvement according to the principles set out for the European Research Area. In addition, we have created an "HRS4R steering committee" made up of CCMAR technicians and researchers at different career levels, which is advising this working group.

These efforts will improve the working conditions and professional development opportunities for our researchers and ensure that CCMAR's human resources policies align with international best practices.
