Rita Teodósio (she/her) currently works as a Junior Researcher at the Aquaculture Research Group. She graduated from the University of Glamorgan (UK) in 2000 and earned her PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Algarve (PT) in 2022, with a specialisation in Fish Nutrition. She expertises in fish nutrition applied to aquaculture. Her research has been centred on developing nutritional strategies to enhance nitrogen retention in fish, reduce the environmental impact of fish diets by improving feed efficiency and nutrient utilisation, and optimise diets for specific rearing conditions using sustainable ingredients and functional feed additives. Currently, her work focuses on developing new functional feeds designed to boost antioxidant and immune status, as well as to enhance gut health and integrity in marine fish larvae and juveniles for the aquaculture sector.
