Outreach @ CEIB

The CEIB members are actively involved in several outreach activities for local schools and general public through the engagement on national and international programmes in collaboration with the CCMAR Communication Department and Research projects. 

Activities in Local schools

Since 2019 we have been participating in the Cientificamente Provável programme and we have spread the word about our the aim of our research projects and major findings in more than 15 schools from basic to the secondary levels in the Algarve region from Vila do Bispo to Vila Real de Santo António. Seven members of the group are involved and have been actively contributing for the success of this programme with several seminars and complementary hands-on activities for the students.

Hosting high school students in the lab

Since 2003 we have been receiving high schools students within the Ciência Viva programme Ocupação Cientifica de Jovens nas Férias. During June and July every year we receive students from all over Portugal to stay with us for two weeks to be involved and participate in our research activities. 

Collaboration with Clubes de Ciência Viva at schools

We have actively collaborated with the high school professors with the implementation of Science Clubes in Local schools within the Rede Nacional de Clubes de Ciencia Viva.

European Researcher´s Night

We have participated in several edition of the European Reseacher´s Night. This is an event promoted by MSCA and Citizens aims to bring research and researchers closer to the public at large, to increase awareness of research and innovation activities and to boost public recognition of science and research education.

Public Science Events

We have participated in several public Science events collaborating with the CCMAR communication Department. we also collaborate in the University Open Day organized by University of Algarve and "Feira das Ciências Marinhas" organized by CCMAR.

Business Events

To spread our scientific results and applications to the industry and other stakeholders we have participated and gave talks in business events.
